And Apoo’s Future Captain

It was beck26 who first mentioned the possibility of Apoo being a BB pirate but he is releasing his theories in chronological order as displayed in his theory library and his upcoming Apoo theory is way at the bottom. Seeing how busy he is, it would be a loooooong time until he gets to that one so I said “screw it.” Cant talk about ‘Lugh’ without mention Apoo anyways.

Overall, the long arm tribe are portrayed to be “evil.” For starters, the long arm(and long leg) tribes are mainly based off Japanese yokai, aka demons.

Ashinaga-tenaga

The pair is commonly described as people from two countries, the “Long-legged Country”, and the “Long-armed Country”. As the names suggest, the inhabitants of these two countries possess unusually lengthy arms and legs. The two work together as a team to catch fish by the seashore.
Working together to catch fish? Reminds me of Fishman Dellinger taking out Ideo and Blue Gilly.

Second is the book series ‘Longarm.’ Two of its most popular titles is ‘Longarm and the Devil’s Sister’ and ‘Longarm and the Brazio Devil.’ In the Devil’s Sister, one character had a small 2 shot Derringer(Dellinger) in his vest pocket.

Third is Brooke. In Sabody, Brooke was warped to a cult who worships Satan(notice the guy with a sheep/goat/ram hat…devil Sanji).

The cult wanted the assistance of Satan because they were being terrorized by long arm bandits.

Also, their attire looks similar doesn’t it?

The long arm tribe typically wears Chinese-style clothing and that is important. I know some of you of thinking of Ideo, but does he wear Chinese-style clothing? Nuh uh. Lets keep our focus on Apoo for now.

The Kidd-Hawkin-Apoo alliance resemblance a few of the main cast from the super popular film ‘Wizard of Oz’ but there is still something off with the reference.

Kidd in a way, is literally a tinman.
Hawkins in a way, is literally a scarecrow.
Apoo however is…..something….his epithet “Roar of the Sea” is the only thing linking him to the cowardly lion and Wizard of Oz. That’s when it hit me……or made my ear ache…..

Shoujo(which means monkey but he’s still 100% human) attacks with sound waves. Apoo uses sound waves to do damage as well. Shoujo and Apoo are very similar no? Apoo is also very mischievous like a monkey and was attacked by Kizaru(which means yellow monkey).

Monkeys in the Wizard of Oz? The flying monkeys are the servants of the wicked witch of the east, the enemies of the protagonist which makes me think that Apoo will betray the Kidd alliance.

So Scratchman Apoo is a Chinese monkey and guess what? Chinese monkey statues are used to scare off oni demons. Since this monkey statue is corrupted(Apoo), it’ll instead attract demons aka, Blackbeard. However, there is still a yokai(Japanese demon) that Apoo will attract:

The broker obviously is of the long arm tribe; he has the Chinese style clothing and the pointy ears is a bonus. Why do I call him “Lugh?”

Lugh or Lug is an Irish deity represented in mythological texts as a hero and High King of the distant past. He is known by the epithets Lámhfhada (meaning “long arm” or “long hand”), for his skill with a spear or sling, Ildánach (“skilled in many arts”), Samhildánach (“Equally skilled in many arts”), Lonnbeimnech (“fierce striker” or perhaps “sword-shouter”) and Macnia (“boy hero”), and by the matronymic mac Ethlenn or mac Ethnenn (“son of Ethliu or Ethniu”). He is a reflex of the pan-Celtic god Lugus, and his Welsh counterpart is Lleu Llaw Gyffes, “The Bright One with the Strong Hand.”

Lugh’s nickname was “long arm” and is skilled in many arts(martial arts are stereotypically associated with China). Lugh also had 2 brothers(not saying anything yet). Going by the current trend, ‘Lugh’ is most likely a bad guy.
